CropStop Challenge #30-Anything Lace!

The challenge this week at CropStop is to use that LACE! You know....that stuff you've been hoarding cause it's just too gorgeous to use, LOL! I love lace, but sometimes find it difficult to incorporate onto my card. I'm getting better about it and after seeing the inspiration from my fellow Creative Team sisters, I'm ready to work up a project. I've seen some awesome rolled lace flowers I been wanting to try out. I'm on vacay right now, but believe me when I get back I'm going to give it a try!

If you've made a project with lace head over to the CropStop blog and link it up for a chance at the gift certificate drawing!

See you all soon! If you haven't scrolled through my blog lately I hope you scroll through to check out my LaLa Land cards! I've got some candy up for grabs on the July 18th post. You have until August 1st to leave a comment under that post to be eligible.

Hugs,
Rosie :)

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday-Center Step Card

Today is another La-La Land Crafts Inspirational Monday showcase for you. If you head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog you can see the awesome creations from my fellow DT sisters. :) La-La Land Crafts is posting inspiration every Monday & Friday so you'll get to see tons of ideas using the fabulous Marci & Luka stamps. You can participate too and upload your creations to the Gallery! We would love to see your work!! So get your La-La Land stamps out and join us in our weekly inspiration. :)

The inspiration today is to make a Center Step Card. You can find the directions here. I decided to use one of the brand, spanking new stamps released at CHA called Cowgirl Marci.....YEE HAW! I live in Oklahoma and we've got lots of Cowboys, Cowgirls and Rodeos so this little gal is gonna get inked up quite a bit around these here parts, LOL!

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Skin: E000, chalk
Lips: R20
Hair: E37, E33, E00
Brown for hat, vest, belt, boots: E55 & chalk
Rope: E55 & chalk
Buckle: C3
Pink for boots: R32 & chalk
Scarf, Dress, band for hat: Paper-Pieced

The cute cowgirl and paisley dps came from the Paper Studio....I LOVE them! I used a CMTH stamp to make the belt buckle. I just colored some cream cardstock with Copic E55 and then sponged on Walnut Stain Distress ink over the top. Then I stamped the buckle image with Versamark and added Zing Rose Embossing Powder. I cut a strip of cream paper for the belt, cut the end into a triangle and added small holes. I colored the strip with E55 and crinkled it up. Then I sponged on Walnut Stain Distress Ink to give it a weathered look.

For the final touch I added white poppies from WOC. And, I raised Tilda and the buckle on pop-dots.

Have a great week and see y'all back here on Monday for some more inspiration! Don't forget to enter my blog candy (post under 07/18).

Rosie

Isaiah and I are visiting my mom in WA. I gotta tell ya I'm loving the 60 degree weather!! It's a wonderful break from the heat wave happening in Oklahoma.

I'll be back soon, but in the meantime you should create something for me while I'm out and link it up to the CropStop blog.:) I'd love to see what you make!! Come back here and leave me a link to your Rosette creation in the comments section and I'll send one lucky person something.

Hugs!

CHA RELEASE--lots of NEW La-La Land Stamps!!

This week is a huge one for those in the crafting business....it's CHA week in Chicago! What does that mean for you? Well.....it's the week that Craft & Hobby businesses showcase their new products/inventions. If you happen to be one of the lucky ones who's attending CHA, then you should definitely look for our booth to meet the owner, Irina (she is one talented lady!). There will be some amazing make-and-takes as well (trust me, I've seen them and they are AWESOME)!!

For La-La Land Crafts, it also means a HUGE release of NEW stamps!! There are 3 new La-La Land Crafts collections being released at CHA: Fairy Tale Collection, Halloween Collection, and a Christmas Collection...we're talking about 14 new stamp in total! If you want a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store and a set of 12 Copic markers, head over the the La-La Land Crafts blog to find out how to enter.

Today, I'm showcasing Prince Luka and Princess Marci from the Fairy Tale Collection.

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Prince Luka:
Skin: E000, challk
Hair: E29, E25, E33
Crown: G24, G21, B00, stickles, clear rhinestones
Clothes: G24, G21, B00, C3, colorless blender, stickles, clear rhinestones
Boots: E24, E55, E29

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Princess Marci:
Skin: E000, chalk
Lips: R20
Hair: E29, E25, E33
Crown: B00, pearls, stickles
Dress: G24, G21, B00, colorless blender, stickles, pearls

Aren't they adorable?!?! I wanted to create a fairytale scene so I picked these glittery papers from My Minds Eye Wonderful Christmas paper pack. It's full of non-traditional Christmas papers. I thought these whimsical, glittery trees were perfect for my fairytale scene. I had the metal word Imagine and the brads in my stash. I cut a border around the Albert Einstein quote from some striped paper in the same pack using SB Parisian Motifs, but it kind of got lost in the background. Since I mailed it before I viewed the pictures, I couldn't go back and change it.

Here's a side view so you can see some of the dimension. I cut out some extra trees and raised them on pop-dots. I also added pop-dots behind Prince Luka, Princess Marci, and the framed quote. The blue ribbon with gold border was also from my stash. I used the Bow-Easy to make my perfect bow.

Now, be sure to head on over to the La-La Land Crafts blog to see more DT creations using stamps from the new release. Don't forget to read the rules on how to enter the drawing for the gift certificate and copic markers!

Also, I have some blog candy up for grabs....check my post from Inspiration Monday (yesterday) and leave a comment under that post to be in the drawing. Good Luck!

Happy Crafting!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday-One for the Boys & use brads/eyelets

Today is another La-La Land Crafts Inspirational Monday showcase for you. If you head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog you can see the awesome creations from my fellow DT sisters. :) La-La Land Crafts is posting inspiration every Monday & Friday. My fellow DT members are split into two teams, Team Monday and Team Friday, so you'll get to see tons of ideas using the uber-CUTE Marci & Luka stamps. You can participate too and upload your creations to the Gallery! We would love to see your work! So get your La-La Land stamps out and join us in our weekly inspiration.

The inspiration today is to make a BOY card and incorporate brad and/or eyelets. I decided to ink up Pilot Luka.....I think he's so cute in his cardboard box plane! When my nephew was little he used to make all sorts of stuff out of cardboard. My nephew is now 15 and over 6 feet tall so fitting in a box now is quite ridiculous, but he still likes to make things out of paper towel rolls! He's very creative! My little boy has quite the imagination also so I can absolutely picture him playing airplane in a cardboard box. :)

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Luka:
Skin: E000, chalk
Hair: E29, E25, E33,
Hat & Clothes: E29, E25, E33, E37,
C3, Liquid Applique
Box: E55, chalk, B93, YR04, R29

Tuffy:
E000, chalk, E25, E55, C3, R29, R24

Did you notice all the brads? Those airplanes in the corners are fabric brads from the Paper Studio...pretty cool, huh?! I also have small light blue brads in the corners of the center strip and light brown brads on the Stars embossed cardstock. I rubbed orange chalk over the stars to bring out the embossing.

I added light blue anchors for the plane propellers and secured them with a dark brown brad. The dps are from K&Company. The kraft cardstock is from Recollections and the light blue cardstock was from my stash. All the paper edges are distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch to make the sentiment tag. The word "Soar" is a CTMH stamp. The rest of it is my handwriting. I raised Pilot Luka and the panel behind him with pop-dots for added dimension.

Okay, are you ready for some more blog candy? Today, I'm offering up Luka with Truck! If you want a chance at winning this handsome fellow, please leave a comment on this post. This candy will be up for two weeks, so you have until August 1st (midnight, CST) to leave a comment. I would love for you to advertise this candy on your blog, but it's not necessary to win. I will do the drawing on August 2nd. If you make a project during this time and post it to the GALLERY, come back and leave a second comment to increase your chances of winning. Since this candy is going for a longer period of time, I will add some additional goodies along with it. GOOD LUCK!
Have a great week! Don't forget to check the La-La Land Crafts blog on Friday for more inspiration. Oh....and I almost forgot.....this week there will be tons of new releases for CHA!! I will have a card up tomorrow showcasing two of the new stamps....WOO HOO!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday-SKETCH

Have you checked out the La-La Land Crafts Blog today? If not, then you haven't heard my good news yet......I'm an official DT member for La-La Land Crafts.....YEA!!!! I was asked a couple months ago to be a guest designer for June and July. Then, just recently Irina asked if I would like to stay on as a full time member. I'm soooooo giddy with excitement!! I've loved these stamps since the moment I saw them and this is a great honor for me! They are absolutely adorable and fun to color up. To top it all off, there are going to be lots of new stamps coming out soon. As a matter of fact, Irina will be showing off these new releases at CHA....so if you're going you should definitely check out her booth!

Every Monday and Friday, the La-La Land Crafts Design Team will be showcasing a new inspirational theme. We would love for you to play along so we can oooooh and ahhhhh over your creations using La-La Land Craft stamps. Please link your projects to our Customer Gallery so we can view your fabulous work.

This week's challenge is a
SKETCH

(by our fabulously talented Michele)

My wonderful SIL, Brooke, celebrated her birthday on June 28th and she loves home-made things. I usually try to make her something either for her birthday or for Christmas. Usually though, I'm a day late and a dollar short...life just seems to get in the way, KWIM?! Well, once again, I'm late, I'm late...for a very important date. We've actually been trying to get together for months now, but the summer has been hectic for both of us. Hopefully, when my little boy and I get back from visiting my mom, we'll get to spend more time with them. Anyways, this card is for you Brooke!!

For my card today, I used the adorable Darling Marci.

I did a little paper-piecing for her dress and colored her with Copics and Chalk.
Skin: E000 & chalk
Lips: R32
Hair: YR23, YR21, YR31
Clothes: Paper-pieced and shaded with chalk
Shoes: R32, BV23, chalk

My cardstock, background floral dp, and dp for her dress came from Close to my Heart "Sophia" paper pack (X7131B). I love that everything in the paper pack coordinates so I don't have to do a long search for matching dps. The dp paper is also printed on both sides in different colors. You can view CTMH products at http://www.closetomyheart.com/. If you see anything you need, just let me know. :)

The pink striped paper and green polka dot paper is from Michaels "Recollections" line. The felt flower border came from Hobby Lobby. It was part of their Easter decorations. The striped ribbon came from Michaels. The large rose is from Recollections and the rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I punched the leaves from a Stampin Up bird/branch punch. All the paper edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Here's a side view:

If you stuck it out to the end of this post then boy do I have a surprise for you! I'm giving away some blog candy......a Marci with Rose stamp along with a few extra goodies!!
Want a chance to win? Leave me a comment and advertise this candy on your blog. Since I'm going out of town soon, this candy will end this Friday, July 15th at midnight, CST. I will announce the winner on Saturday. If you join our sketch challenge this week and upload a card by midnight Friday, then come back here and leave me another comment and you'll be entered in the drawing twice. :)

Have a great week!

Rosie

La-La Land Crafts Inspirational Monday-Monochromatic with splash of one color

Happy 4th of July! I'm on my way back from my Anniversary Weekend today. Hubby and I got married on July 3rd....12 years ago. Hard to believe it's been that long! He's an amazing guy and I'm so blessed to have him as my husband!

Today is another La-La Land Crafts Inspirational Monday showcase for you. Head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog to see the awesome creations from my fellow DT sisters. :) If you haven't heard, La-La Land Crafts is posting inspiration every Monday & Friday. My fellow DT members are split into two teams, Team Monday and Team Friday, so you'll get to see tons of ideas with the Marci & Luka line of stamps. You can participate too and upload your creations to the Gallery! We would love to see your work! So get your La-La Land stamps out and join us in our weekly inspiration.

The inspiration today is to make a Monochromatic card with a splash of one color. I felt Marci with Rose was perfect for this challenge. I decided to try something different and stamped Marci on cream cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. I colored her hair with Copics E25, E33, & E00. The pink areas were colored with R81 and the green with G24. The rest of the coloring/shading was done with chalk.

I used cream/brown for my monochromatic theme and my splash is my favorite color....pink. I distressed all the paper edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. To bring in some additional oomph, I used two different Martha Stewart Punches: Vintage Floral and Embroidered Floral Edge. The large pink flower in the corner is from Recollections. The lacy ribbon/rose border was a long 12" strip that I cut down and is also from Recollections. The white flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Can you believe, I didn't use one sheet of designer paper?!?!?

The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations Classic Message that I got from CropStop. The circle frame around the sentiment is from Fiskars Wishes All Around. I embossed them with Zing Rose Embossing Powder and then rubbed Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the cardstock. Marci and the sentiment are raised up on pop-dots.

Well, that's it for me. I hope you have a great 4th of July! I'm going to spend the day catching up with my 5-year-old to hear about his weekend adventures with his amazing cousins. A huge thank you to my wonderful SIL who took him for the long weekend so the hubby and I could celebrate our Anniversary!

Hugs,
Rosie
